Who doesn’t love a S’more?! With ingredients like graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate, how could you possibly go wrong?! Below, I’ve gathered some of our go-to creative S’mores recipes that I think you’ll enjoy!

One of our family’s favorite ways to spend a weekend is gathered around our fire, listening to music, doing cartwheels in the grass (well beyond the sunset) and making S’mores! This is the definition of childhood! It’s imaginative, it’s memorable, and really… Who can resist a S’more?! I know my family can’t! That’s why we decided to think outside the box and share a few of our favorite creative S’mores recipes with you!

My kids love to create (whether it be on a canvas or in the kitchen). So when one of my girls mentioned the idea of creating a “different” kind of S’more, we decided to make a night of it and get creative!

It’s the perfect opportunity to call up our neighbors, host a BBQ or simply skip the hassle of dinner and host a Drinks & Dessert gathering (that’s the best part anyway, right?)

With the help of my kids, I gathered up a few “no fail” S’mores recipe ingredients and started creating! Below are the creative S’mores recipes that everyone enjoyed and how we set up our simple S’mores station!

STEP 1: Gather your Favorite Creative S’mores Recipe Ingredients

Whether you’re making your own creative S’mores recipe or trying one of our favorites below, you’ll want to gather some delicious ingredients for experimenting! Ask your friends and family what recipes they would like to try and create your spread. Below are the creative S’mores ingredients that we used for our recipes below.

  • Graham Crackers (Regular & Cinnamon)
  • Jett Puffed Marshmallows
  • Hershey’s Dark Chocolate and Cookies N Cream (If you are someone who likes a variety of options, try these (and an added bonus is that they come in the perfect S’mores size!)
  • Ghirardelli White Chocolate
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
  • Pretzels (crushed) – don’t feel like crushing pretzels? Try these as the perfect, stackable option!
  • Strawberries
  • Blackberries
  • Bananas
  • Metal Skewers

STEP 2: Create Your S’mores Station

Using nothing more than a tray and cake stand (speaking of, how cute is this one!), I created a pretty display. Setting out the pre-opened and precut pieces for your guests, makes grabbing and making creative S’mores recipes as breeze! Another great display option is a tiered tray like this one!

You will also want to set out a number of skewers. Corralling the skewers in a fire proof and heat resistant container, like an old crock, not only looks great but is functional as well! No need to worry about your little kiddos running around and stepping on hot skewers; simply grab a skewer from the pot and safely return it when you’re done!

HINT: placing the container on the ground makes it the perfect level for your children to independently and responsibly grab and replace their skewers!

Step #3 – Start Your Camp Fire

If you’re like my husband, who likes to brag about his fire making skills, dating all the way back to his Boy Scout days, then you won’t need this next part 😉 However, you are a fire making newbie like me, simply follow these helpful tips and you’ll be roasting marshmallows in no time!

How to Create a Good Camp Fire

  1. Gather some tinder (dry, flammable material) and place it in the middle of your fire pit.
  2. Then right over your tinder bundle, form a teepee with some kindling (small sticks and twigs).
  3. Continue adding kindling to the teepee, working your way up to pencil sized twigs.
  4. Create a larger teepee structure around your kindling teepee with your fuel wood (larger logs).
  5. Light your fire!

Hint: make sure that your wood is dry! This will not only burn easier, but will prevent that irritating white smoke.
