When it comes to pumpkin recipes, even though I love roasted pumpkin and pumpkin soup, nothing appeals to me more strongly than dessert-based pumpkin recipes. I feel that pumpkin flavour really presents itself nicely when baked into a cookie or a cake. Wouldn’t you agree?

In this post, I’m compiling 12 of my must-try pumpkin spice dessert recipes. I say must-try, because I have personally tried every single one of them and I can honestly say that each of them are not only delicious, but unique as well.

Now, I know there are a lot of naysayers when it comes to pumpkin spice and its popularity in the fall months. And, to you, I say this: Haters gonna hate anyway, so hate on! And while you’re truly in denial of your love of pumpkin spice by fronting a hater attitude, I’ll be getting my fill from the recipes below. Oh, and I’m going to enjoy every single one of these desserts with a pumpkin spice latte too!

First up, in no particular order, is my Butterscotch Pumpkin Cookies. These cookies are delectably moist and sweet, and everything fall should be – soothing, comforting, and flavourful!

Next up, let’s talk cake. I love bundt cakes as you know, so there’s no better place to start than my Frosted Pumpkin Puree Bundt Cake. This cake is seriously moist and deliciously flavoured. A perfect autumn dessert that looks great and presents well; everyone will love this cake!

Donuts are great for any occasion, and homemade donuts do not need to be complicated. My Pumpkin Spice Sour Cream Donuts take very little time and very little effort. The little ones in your life will love helping you decorate these beauties!

Let’s talk layered cake. Halloween Pumpkin Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting is a four-layer cake that looks beautiful, tastes amazing, and does not require fancy cake decorating skill, talent, or equipment.

Not everything pumpkin-y and dessert-y has to be cookies or cake. I made this Pumpkin Pecan Cream Cheese Spread to bring a taste of fall to my morning breakfast bagel. This spread has cream cheese, pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin spice, and pecans. Can you say yummy?

Can somebody tell me what fall is without a pumpkin spice drink or treat from Starbucks? I’ll tell you. It’s nothing. It’s void. That is all. To fix that, I’m giving you my Starbucks Copycat Pumpkin Spice Loaf recipe. If there’s no Starbucks near you, then get this in your oven right away. Thank me later. You’re welcome.

Let’s go back to talk more about bundt cakes, because I have another one you must try. This one has pumpkin spice and chocolate chips too. Pumpkin Spice Walnut Chocolate Bundt is pumpkin-y, chocolaty, and has little bits of walnuts scattered throughout to create texture and taste. So good!

Are you of the school that thinks biscotti is a cake or those who believe biscotti to be a cookie? I’m on the fence, depending on the flavour of biscotti. In this case, Pumpkin Spice Biscotti, I don’t care if it’s a cake or a cookie, just that it’s crunchy, chocolaty, and delicious!

To some people – not me! – a whole slice of cake or pie is too much. Those same people think that a cookie should be miniature. For those people, I’m including my Pumpkin Cheesecake Truffles. If you’re like me, just eat about ten truffles and it’ll be like you’re eating cake!

I believe muffins are for breakfast. I’ve heard once that Canadians use the word muffin as an excuse to eat cake for breakfast. Well, I’m so proud to be Canadian, damn it! Muffins are supposed to be healthy, but first and foremost, they need to be yummy. My Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Muffins and beautiful and yummy too!

Speaking of healthy muffins, these Pumpkin Oatmeal Muffins are very healthy. Made with pumpkin seeds and oatmeal, and of course lots of pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice, these muffins need nothing more than a hot coffee and good slather of butter!

I’ve saved the best for last. Even though most of us will think of candy corn as a snack, I think this version is more of a dessert. I would happily serve this after dinner with coffee, pumpkin shortbread cookies, and pumpkin spiced nuts. Pumpkin Spice Candy Corn is the sweetest of all of the 12 Must-Try Pumpkin Spice Dessert Recipes. It’s quite possibly my favourite, but I could say that about all twelve of these recipes!

As an added bonus, I’m throwing in one more recipe in this collection. This is my Pumpkin Spice Seasoning recipe. I stole it from The Pioneer Woman, but she won’t mind; we’re best friends. She just doesn’t know it. If you see her, please let her know. Thanks!
